Scripture Reading

John 10 : 11 - 15

11: "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

12: The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep.  So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away.  Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.

13: The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

14: "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me.

15: just as the Father knows me and I now the father - and lay down my life for the sheep.

Purpose:

To keep members informed of important church information. This is a large church and there are times when the whole membership needs to be informed of a death, serious illness or an important event not previously scheduled. In order to communicate quickly with all the members the following plan is in place. This works as long as everyone on the chain is faithful in making the calls.
Structure:
  1. The church secretary or pastor informs the co-ordinator of the message to be conveyed.
  2. The co-ordinator calls two ladies each of whom has list of 12-14 people to call.
  3. Each of the people that they call has a list of 10-12 people to call.
  4. If someone on that list is away or cannot be contacted there are four spares each of whom has a complete list. One of them is contacted and makes the calls.
