Scripture Reading

John 10 : 11 - 15

11: "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

12: The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep.  So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away.  Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.

13: The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

14: "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me.

15: just as the Father knows me and I now the father - and lay down my life for the sheep.

Dear Customer,

Download the Citrus Program Calendar

Happy Citrus Season! Hopefully you’ve anticipated my letter. Our family had a fun and eventful summer and all too soon the cold frost has arrived. So, to stay away from viruses this winter, we’ll each be taking in our share of citrus.  We hope your family enjoyed their warm summer as well and we look forward to providing you with fresh fruit again this season.

Like last year, we have continued to try and save on postage by emailing many customers first and then providing a coloured flyer at November’s pick up.  We have also changed the direction of ordering online. We are asking for you to log on to our school website, www.cpes.ca. When there, feel free to browse our school information then click on the top tab called Citrus. There you will find our calendar a personal link to email me your order. You may order for the entire season there, but please keep a copy of it and notify us if anything changes.

Attached is our tentative season calendar that includes dates and prices. It is a tentative schedule because fruit prices for January are not firm yet, therefore, prices may be subject to changeThe pick up dates for all months but April are on Sunday afternoons. April’s date is scheduled for a Tuesday pick up, but that may be adjusted.

With recent economic instability, citrus suppliers haven’t lowered their prices leaving ours the same as last years. This season we will again offer a Variety Pack available from November to January. This was a great seller last year as it is a half case which contains 10 Tangerines, 16-20 Navel Oranges and 6 Ruby Red Grapefruit. These would make excellent Christmas gifts for Corporate Businesses or for families as they are packed in a nice box with a cover flyer.

This year we will again spread the word of our fundraiser through fliers.  Our students and friends will be passing them out on doorsteps this month.  If you receive one feel free to share it with a friend.  For our December shipment we are encouraging customers to share the gift of Christmas by giving gifts of healthy citrus. That shipment arrives on December 20th and would be perfect for holiday gifts, especially the variety packs.

On SALE DAY, we’re asking for you to be considerate to others in the parking lot. I plan to have  a parent/student there to assist in parking, but there is no reason to be in a rush and have accidents. We hope for safe exits each month.

Our sale times this year are again BETWEEN 2:00 AND 5:00PM ON SUNDAYS, with the exception of April’s being on a Tuesday between 5-8pm.   If you are unable to pick up your fruit on this date you MUST make arrangements ahead of time as your fruit may be sold after 4:30pm on the sale day. We only accept cash or cheque. Please also remember that the prices and varieties may change due to weather or other uncontrollable conditions.  I will do my best to update the school website, www.cpes.ca  with any changes. Fruit WILL NOT be available to anyone earlier than the sale times. Fruit is sold on a first come basis only. I recognize that there are size varieties, and you have preferences, but it is also a business. Thanks for your understanding, so please don’t ask.

Lastly, we thank you for being a continued fruit supporter.  If you have friends or co-workers that may enjoy our product, please share, we really need positive feedback to help our fundraiser grow.  The profit from the fruit we sell this year needs to be put towards the operating costs of our school. We definitely wish our enrollment was higher. If you know anyone who would benefit and enjoy a Christian education, please drop by the school office.

You can make your first order any time now through the citrus line machine or through the website.   For November 22nd  we have Navel Oranges, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Tangerines and Variety Packs. Order deadline is November 5th.

If would like to be removed from this list please let me know.

Sincerely,

January 3, 2010

Happy New Year!  It was a great holiday and I'm sad to send the kids back to school this week.  I hope you and your family had a safe and merry Christmas.

January fruit is on it's way and the deadline is in two weeks, January 14th.

Take note that the Navels are from California this month and have a 50 cent increase/half case to the suggested calendar.  It is also the only month for ordering Honeybells, and when ordering them please be specific and list by half case amounts.

Example:
2 half cases = 56.00

On sale days, feel free to share +ve or -ve feedback, but please let me know within 24hrs if possible so I can let our supplier know as well.

If you missed picking up your fruit last month,  my appologies, but a phone call or message would have saved it till Monday morning.  If I don't hear from anyone about pick up, then I begin selling it. Remember, fruit it sold on a first-serve basis, you cannot order a specific size.

Let's Start Our New Year together with fresh fruit!  To Good Health!
